Botox® is the brand name for Bomlinum toxin, a protein which when commercially produced can be used for medical and cosmetic purposes. It acts by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscle, causing the muscle to relax. It has a wide variety of therapeutic uses such as the treatment of muscle spasms, excessive sweating and chronic migraines however, Botox® is more widely known for its use in the cosmetic industry, as it is the worlds number one product used to reduce facial wrinkles. The most common request I get is that people are “fed up of looking tired and angry”. By treating the frown lines, these features can be significantly reduced. Other areas commonly treated are “worry lines” on the forehead and “crows feet” around the eyes. My aim is to it give a more natural, refreshed look, rather than the frozen appearance which is often depicted in the media.
